On August 8, 2008, The Groundskeeper finalized the purchase of Greater Texas Landscapes of Austin, Texas. Greater Texas Landscape, founded in 1981 by Deborah E. Cole, joined The Groundskeeper team under the ESOP employee-owned program.“Greater Texas Landscape is regarded as an industry leader in their markets and have great employees with a wonderful corporate culture,” says The Groundskeeper CEO Anil Hiremath. “We are thrilled to welcome them as a part of our employee-owned family.”
GTL provides commercial landscape management and irrigation services as well as high-end installation throughout central Texas. With two offices in Austin and one in San Antonio, they have developed a network of valued relationships in the office, retail, industrial, facility, multi-family and homeowner association markets.
“We have shared best practices with The Groundskeeper for over 15 years,” says GTL President Deborah Cole. “I have always valued my professional relationship with the executives and managers of this highly respected landscape firm. When conversations on ESOP turned to how we could join forces to mutually benefit our employees and customers, it was a no brainer. I have admired the quality of the work, the ethics and integrity of this regional firm for many years. It was quite an honor to be invited to participate in the ESOP and allow our hard working employees to be a part of the ownership of the GTL and TGK alliance.”
“We will continue to share best practices and enjoy benefits of the relationship turned partnership,” says Cole. “Not only will our employees become owners in a business they have helped to build over the years, but we will be able to share the best of both worlds.”
This relationship is designed to enhance the vision of becoming the most respected and most admired landscape firm in the country. The new partnership will provide the support and resources needed to bid larger projects and contracts in the Texas region.
